PERSONNEL
Paul Pietz, Owner/Producer/Director,
worked in the professional theater during the mid-1960s at The Loeb Drama
Center at Harvard, The Charles Playhouse in Bostons
Theater District, and summer stock theaters. He graduated from the Rhode
Island School of Design in 1974 with a Bachelor of Architecture and a
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. As a licensed Architect, he had a practice
that continued for 20 years. In 1990, he began The Video Editing Room/BIG BOOM PRODUCTIONS, returning to his original career interest in performance and production. He has trained with the late Ralph Rosenblum (editor of "Annie Hall" and other major films) at the International Workshops for Film and Television in Maine, and with Paul Barnes (editor of Ken Burns projects) at Keene State College.
Mark A. Nelson, Associate Producer,
joined The Video Editing Room/BIG BOOM PRODUCTIONS in 1997
following his graduation from Keene State College, where he earned a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Film Theory. Trained in both Film and Video, he gained
valuable experience in student film/video productions, such as the "After
Dark" television series of 34 half-hour episodes aired on local cable
in Keene and at NYU-TV in New York City. He has taken courses with Paul
Barnes, editor, in the theory and practice of film editing. He was an
officer with Barnstorming Productions, the film and video organization
of Keene State College and was presented the 1996 award for "Excellence
in Film Production" at the college.
Matt Comerford, Multimedia Producer,
joined BIG BOOM PRODUCTIONS in December 2000, after moving from England where he graduated from the University of Sunderland with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Studies. He has worked on various independent video productions; drama, documentary, music video, etc. His final graduation production was nominated for an RTS award. While studying at the University of Kentucky in 97/98 he learned multimedia production using Macromedias Authorware, and, since joining BIG BOOM PRODUCTIONS he has adapted those skills to create CD-Roms using Macromedias Director.
